Gemini 4 Argon is Google's flagship reasoning model. Google built it for complex software engineering, deep mathematical and scientific problem solving, and autonomous multi-step agents. It became available in October 2026.
It accepts text, image, file, audio, and video input and produces text, which is among the widest input ranges of the free-pi models. The context window is about one million tokens, and a single response can be up to about 940,000 tokens. It supports reasoning with an effort setting, tool calling, and structured outputs. With tool calling, the free-pi agent can read and edit files, run commands, and use free-pi's built-in web search and documentation lookup tools.
It scores 52.6 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index. On Design Arena it ranks 7th in 3D, game development, and website design, 8th in data visualization, 9th in code categories overall, and 10th in UI components.
In free-pi it is free to use with no API key and no card, but it is a premium model. It counts as about 0.02x usage, which means it uses your daily allowance quickly.
When to pick it
For hard software engineering problems, and for any task where the model should look at audio or video as well as text and images, pick Gemini 4 Argon.
To get the same model at a lower allowance cost when you can wait longer for replies, pick Gemini 4 Argon Flex. For everyday work that should last the day, pick the default DeepSeek V4 Flash. For another premium model, pick Claude Sonnet 5.5.
